It features e-commerce and a membership system that allows visitors to join and receive free product based on their membership status. It’s fully responsive and written and designed for an optimal user experience across all devices and platforms. This project was completed in July 2014.

Sungate Energy Systems Intranet

Sungate Energy Systems IntranetSungate Energy Systems needed custom branding and style applied to their updated intranet application. The primary challenge was applying a new design in an environment that included a variety of jQuery themes throughout. To preserve functionality the jQuery style had to be partially integrated rather than entirely replaced. This project was completed in March 2013.

Center for Inclusive Child Care Learning Center

I developed this learning center for the CICC back in 2005. Needless to say—it was due for a much needed facelift and user interface overall which was completed in late 2012.

Courses focus on providing training and information on a variety of topics for child-care professionals. CEU’s are earned upon successful course completion.


Minnesota Humanities Center Resource Center

Minnesota Humanities Center Absent Narratives Resource CenterThis project was developed with Greg Benson and represents a year long development and testing journey (2012) that resulted in a highly flexible online resource center.

The ultimate goal is maximum flexibility to find organize and deploy humanities content for students throughout Minnesota. The system has the capability to deploy custom branding and resource collections for partner schools and districts.

One of the greatest challenges was developing a custom video interface that allows for uploading, playing, embedding, and downloading video content by users. We use the Adobe Media Server to deliver the best file version for bandwidth considerations and browser type. The application is mobile ready and HTML5 compliant.


Minnesota Humanities Center Online Learning Center Platform

This platform was developed by John Simmer and Greg Benson for the Minnesota Humanities Center between 2009 and 2011. It serves as a comprehensive platform for all of the organization’s online learning.

Key features include:

  • A learning management system for online courses: instructor lead, self-study, and hybrid
  • A custom e-commerce application
  • An adminstrative interface for managing school districts, school groups within districts, and related discounts and memberships that can be targeted to the school level
  • A System for tracking and managing core content at the classroom level

WLS ThumbnailThis is a basic informational site for Web Learning Solutions Inc. which is a joint venture between John Simmer and Greg Benson offering an array of e-learning products and services including complete online learning and resource platforms. Designed by John Simmer in 2009, it reflects web stardards at that time.

Cartridge Care

Cartridge Care Center for Inclusive Child Care Learning Center dashboard

This site features company information but the primary focus is a custom product database with ecommerce. Existing customers can login for their custom product/price list and new customers can shop from over 20,000 products. Although the site was developed in 2008-09 it still serves the company and customers well as a primary vehicle for placing orders.
